Booking now for solo + chamber performances and new music commissions!

As an artist, I am deeply inspired by nature and literature. Growing up in rural New England, my first exposure to classical music came from ballet class. From hearing Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf in ballet school to studying Messiaen’s birds at my alma mater in Ithaca, NY, I am constantly finding ways to use music to enlighten audiences about sounds and music occurring in nature. Through creative concert programming, I seek to engage audiences of all ages with the sounds of nature, especially birdsongs, in ways that encourage an intense desire to appreciate and care for the beauty around us. A most recent and especially treasured project is my newly commissioned work “To Carry the Sky Upon Your Back” by Jake Gunnar Walsh. Inspired by a quote from Thoreau’s Walden, this work with premiered for solo piccolo and flute choir and eloquently creates a chorus of birdsong through the poetry of music.

I enjoy collaborating with other creatives and combining multiple arts forms in chamber music settings as well as larger, cohesive projects. I approach collaborative performances and projects with the same joy and gratitude that I use in my own flute and piccolo practice every day. I look for other artists and creatives who seek to attain the next level of excellence and sophistication that I aspire for. As a self-proclaimed organized creative, I balance a desire for perfection with an acceptance for the unexpected.
